All pre-existing mulch areas will be manually edged to a depth of 2-4 inches. All edging debris will be cleaned up and all bed areas graded if necessary, to make sure that all runoff is drawn away from the foundation. A slow release granular fertilizer will be applied around perennials and new plantings. Pre-emergent will be applied under 1.5-2.0 inches of our premium double shredded hardwood bark mulch to prevent crabgrass and broadleaf weeds from germinating in mulched areas. Afterwards all mulched areas will have a smooth appearance and all edges will be well defined with no mulch spilling over onto concrete or turf areas.
